The aim of the Japan Global Research Center is to connect researchers from Japan and Cambridge, and to work toward solutions to some of the key challenges faced by modern societies. These challenges differ from country to country, but many of them are common to all countries, and in order to solve them cooperation across borders, academic fields and various sectors of society will be necessary. These challenges include global warming, water supply, social and economic inequality, energy and ageing societies.
JGRC aims to initiate, support and promote a broad and ambitious range of projects with the help of researchers from around the world. JGRC acts as a bridge between these researchers, companies and various institutions to identify collaborative partners, design meeting opportunities and help the projects achieve their goals.
