Reading early modern Japanese texts with AI

The transcription project Tackling Pandemics in Early Modern Japan, launched by Dr Laura Moretti in collaboration with Prof Hashimoto Yuta(National Museum of Japanese History), is entering the second month and the participants have been busy transcribing thought-provoking texts and ephemera on measles, cholera, and smallpox.
